We are a blessed people, not that we realize it often or are grateful for our blessings. Sometimes when I read the news, it seems some people believe we are still living in Dicken’s 19th century London where the air is unbreathable because of coal smoke, the water is a cholera brew, and the dead are stacked like cordwood in the streets. Oh, and children work 90 hour weeks with a no PTO, ever.

Sometimes it’s okay to be happy, maybe even grateful, and, sigh, generous and kind.

Such a delightful remembrance, Mr Switter. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And what a very sweet acknowledgment to the General Secretary of the SCFRDBDFTTP -- it was a lovely thing to do and gives me an insight into your character.

Thanks, Sharron. I truly believe it’s the people like the Madame General Secretary who make the world work and who also make it wonderful, perhaps more so than even some politicians, actors, and sports personalities.

It will be interesting to see what happens when I show up at the Ministry of Corn Nuts this week. Heh.

"It’s good to be known, and thought of as good enough"

Truth

I'm thankful for seeing the places and people you share.

Thankful for your humor that makes it more bearable(?), To hear some of these stories.

I resonate with the humility, truth, compassion in how you you share. And your gratitude. All four of these frequently shine through your stories.

Expectations of what I can actually accomplish, I keep downgrading. some people are so isolated now adays that their only human interaction may be when they shop.i also wonder how much longer grocery stores will exist in USA, able/willing to offer food at prices people can pay.

Even though I get a paycheck, I half consider it a ministry working where I do. Prayed God will bless people through me.( In spite of me even, cause I can get grumpy). Prayed that stores can stay open a little longer for people to buy food.

So multiple parts of this story blessed me, and honestly, I feel greedy about that response.

Bless u switter for your life, all the good you've been a part of, with great sacrifice to u and your family. And I'm extremely grateful to your wife. I sense that she is a huge part of u surviving with a kind heart still intact.

Now, laughter.

Wouldn't it be funny if your non DMV ish clerk, turned 18 employed at the DMV & stayed there till birth of her first child.

Now I’ve made the connection, Idaho Peace. I’m kind of thick sometimes! I meant every word.

Thank you for the kind response. I really do believe little ol’ we can change the world into a better place by the attitudes we choose and how we choose to treat one another. I think it’s important to find things to honor and respect in each person we meet. It’s hard, almost impossible at times, but it’s at those times when it really matters.

I wish I could be more consistent, but that’s the nature or who we are. The good thing is we always get a next time to get it right.

I like your screen name. Idaho is the one place I have always found peace, except for Eagle Road!
